Sodomy

While looking up some information about the city of Sodom in the Bible many years ago I ran across something very interesting. We have given the word Sodomy a wrong definition. In reality it has nothing to do with a sexual act at all.

I was surfing on the web tonight and found this guy preaching, and decided to make a post. I was most irritated at the fact that when I hit the send I got a message saying that my comment was pending approval.

This is what I wrote: Love the preaching, this guy is good at it, too bad he has to throw in all the homosexual crap. I'm sure that Sodom like all other cities had homosexuals, but homosexuality wasn't one of their crimes. I hate the fact that no one can actually read the Bible. My proof is the word of God in Ezekiel 16:49 "Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Thats it!

This is where the video is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hCqyDgkObA

I noticed just like you might have if you went to the link that all the comments where about his preaching, and nice. There wasn't one thing about the incorrect message he is spewing out. The minds that he is distorting from the truth.

Many people twist the story to highlight that Sodom's sins all boiled down to them being quire, for two words in the story, which is "know them". If a man like Lot who lived in the city and knew all the men where gay, why would he offer them his daughters knowing the men would turn him down? Seems like a pointless act.

The story tells us that the men young and old from all the city came to Lots house. Sodom must have been relatively small in size that three strangers could stick out so much that every man showed up.

The fact that Sodom's true crimes where that of economics seems to never enter the picture on a Sunday at any church. The towns men didn't want to have sexual relations with the men, but wanted to know their business that Lot would except them into his house. This was a town where helping the poor and needy was thought of as one of the worst things a person could do, and if Lot was doing something out of the norm, then there must be good reason, and the townsmen in their thinking had the right to know.

The point I'm making is that you can't read this book and say its the word of God, unless you read the whole thing and believe its the word of God. And since Ezekial 16:49 clams to be the actual words of God, why doesn't he himself say one of the crimes of Sodom is homosexuality?

Now with all that, I think the that the word Sodomy should be changed from its sexual misunderstanding to its true crimes, of arrogance and being stingy. I personally love the idea of calling someone a Sodomite and then having to explain their ignorance to them. Of course if I did this, they might call me a sodomite for my arrogance. Hehe!

Where did God come from?

I often hear people say, "He must exits, just look at all the beauty around us and the marvels of the universe". What I never hear is "Look at the filth, the destruction, the loneliness of our existence".

I've read alot over my years, and most people simply try to dazzle you with the concept that time simply doesn't exist to God, therefore he has and will always be. Notice that they will never actually give you an answer, because they don't know. They can't know. Why? Because God as a supreme creator cannot exist. How am I sure? Unlike religious people who believe there is a God, taking it totally on faith, I know that God cannot be, couldn't be, and could never have been.

If time doesn't exist to God, and we know this would be somewhat true to a supreme being that has exist forever, and will exist forever, who has existed before time, and will exist after, then why is time so important to God?

Throughout all religions you will read that time is very important to God. There is always urgency, there is always a beginning and an end. Why would a supreme being like God, put such emphises into time if it isn't important in the least to him?

Time is precious to us, the creators of it, just like God is precious to us, again... the creators of him.

The truth is, we created God in our image and not visa-versa. How can I make such a claim? It has to do with time. If God existed before time, and time is matter, and God is not matter, and existed before it, then he would have no form. So, how can we be created in his image, if he hasn't any?

Also, how come God is a man? No form, no genitalia.
