Sodomy

While looking up some information about the city of Sodom in the Bible many years ago I ran across something very interesting. We have given the word Sodomy a wrong definition. In reality it has nothing to do with a sexual act at all.

I was surfing on the web tonight and found this guy preaching, and decided to make a post. I was most irritated at the fact that when I hit the send I got a message saying that my comment was pending approval.

This is what I wrote: Love the preaching, this guy is good at it, too bad he has to throw in all the homosexual crap. I'm sure that Sodom like all other cities had homosexuals, but homosexuality wasn't one of their crimes. I hate the fact that no one can actually read the Bible. My proof is the word of God in Ezekiel 16:49 "Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Thats it!

This is where the video is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hCqyDgkObA

I noticed just like you might have if you went to the link that all the comments where about his preaching, and nice. There wasn't one thing about the incorrect message he is spewing out. The minds that he is distorting from the truth.

Many people twist the story to highlight that Sodom's sins all boiled down to them being quire, for two words in the story, which is "know them". If a man like Lot who lived in the city and knew all the men where gay, why would he offer them his daughters knowing the men would turn him down? Seems like a pointless act.

The story tells us that the men young and old from all the city came to Lots house. Sodom must have been relatively small in size that three strangers could stick out so much that every man showed up.

The fact that Sodom's true crimes where that of economics seems to never enter the picture on a Sunday at any church. The towns men didn't want to have sexual relations with the men, but wanted to know their business that Lot would except them into his house. This was a town where helping the poor and needy was thought of as one of the worst things a person could do, and if Lot was doing something out of the norm, then there must be good reason, and the townsmen in their thinking had the right to know.

The point I'm making is that you can't read this book and say its the word of God, unless you read the whole thing and believe its the word of God. And since Ezekial 16:49 clams to be the actual words of God, why doesn't he himself say one of the crimes of Sodom is homosexuality?

Now with all that, I think the that the word Sodomy should be changed from its sexual misunderstanding to its true crimes, of arrogance and being stingy. I personally love the idea of calling someone a Sodomite and then having to explain their ignorance to them. Of course if I did this, they might call me a sodomite for my arrogance. Hehe!

Where did God come from?

I often hear people say, "He must exits, just look at all the beauty around us and the marvels of the universe". What I never hear is "Look at the filth, the destruction, the loneliness of our existence".

I've read alot over my years, and most people simply try to dazzle you with the concept that time simply doesn't exist to God, therefore he has and will always be. Notice that they will never actually give you an answer, because they don't know. They can't know. Why? Because God as a supreme creator cannot exist. How am I sure? Unlike religious people who believe there is a God, taking it totally on faith, I know that God cannot be, couldn't be, and could never have been.

If time doesn't exist to God, and we know this would be somewhat true to a supreme being that has exist forever, and will exist forever, who has existed before time, and will exist after, then why is time so important to God?

Throughout all religions you will read that time is very important to God. There is always urgency, there is always a beginning and an end. Why would a supreme being like God, put such emphises into time if it isn't important in the least to him?

Time is precious to us, the creators of it, just like God is precious to us, again... the creators of him.

The truth is, we created God in our image and not visa-versa. How can I make such a claim? It has to do with time. If God existed before time, and time is matter, and God is not matter, and existed before it, then he would have no form. So, how can we be created in his image, if he hasn't any?

Also, how come God is a man? No form, no genitalia.

MMR Shot

I recently watched an episode of "Law & Order Special Victims Unit", where a young girl who caught the measles died. I felt that the story was incredibly one sided and tainted. It left me feeling that any one who didn't immunize their children where horrible people.

The sad thing is remember that I didn't want to have my children immunized, because of the scare I had heard about it could lead to serious complications like brain damage or death. The doctor convinced me that it would be easier for getting my child into school, and for other reasons that later in life would become apparent to me.

I started thinking about how my own grandfather told me that only about 6 months after I was immunized for mumps that I actually got the mumps. This also happened to me later in life when I caught both the measles and chicken-pox, about 1 year apart from each other.

So I began to read, I found out that according to the CDC, "measles transmission has been clearly documented among vaccinated persons. In some large outbreaks...over 95% of cases have a history of vaccination. Outbreaks of mumps and rubella often occur in vaccinated people as well."

It turns out that these wonderful vaccinations can cause a massive amount of problems: encephalitis, encephalopathy, neurological disorders, seizure disorders, convulsions, learning disabilities, subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE), demyelination of the nerve sheaths, Guillain-Barre' syndrome (paralysis), muscle incoordination, deafness, panniculitis, vasculitis, optic neuritis (including partial or total blindness), retinitis, otitis media, bronchial spasms, fever, headache, joint pain, arthritis (acute and chronic), transverse myelitis, thrombocytopenia (blood clotting disorders and spontaneous bleeding), anaphylaxis (severe allergic reactions), lymphadenopathy, leukocytosis, pneumonitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, urticaria, pancreatitis, parotitis, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, meningitis, diabetes, autism, immune system disorders, and death.

The worst part of this is that the vaccination is only good approximately for 4 years, and not for your entire life time.

So, since 95% of the people who receive these immunizations can still contract and spread the germs, and the shots are only good for 4 years, and the chances of contracting a side affect are actually higher than the CDC claim... I'm starting to wonder if it is truly wise to immunize. Also I wonder if the reason for the rise since the 70's of many of the problems in people could be a direct link to the MMR shot.

Moses and The Beginning

Most of you probably know that Moses was the author of the book of Genesis. However have you ever tried to visualize what is being narrated to you from the eyes of the author?

Genesis (1:1-2) "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters."

Let us purely look at this from a humans point of view standing ocean side.

If we saw above us the sky, and we knew that God was in the sky, then would we not refer to the sky as heaven? If like other religions that came before Judaism many believed that gods walked in the clouds. Since not all clouds are connected, one could assume that there are multiple heavens in the sky. Most paintings depict God in the clouds, so this isn't hard to believe.

The earth part is easy enough to believe in since it would be right under our feet.

Next you have to imagine the world without hills and valleys, because Moses tells us it was without form, or virtually flat.

There was no vegetation, trees, people, cattle, etcetera on the Earth at this time, and this is why Moses also describes the land as void.

We are standing ocean-side just before the dawn of the first day, hence Moses' reason for saying that darkness was over the face of the deep.

Once the Sun started to peak over the edge of the world and come into view it would rise out over the water. This is why the author makes the last reference saying that the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the water. Some Sol religions that existed before Judaism often referred to the light of the Sun as a warming spirit. So it is not hard to believe that Moses' could use a similar metaphor.

Remember not only did Moses' have to write about the images that God was showing him, he had to write them in the Pop Culture format of the time. This is why I personally don't find it hard to believe that Moses would have borrowed upon meanings that would allow readers of the time to more easily understand what he was describing to them.

The only question I have, and you should have too at this point is, "Where did the water come from?" In the future I hope to tackle this question.

Cain's Wife

I've read some weird stuff on the internet, I've watched videos people have posted, I've listened to radio shows... and its now that I realize no one on the planet actually has read the Bible. Okay, you caught me... I've read it.

Genesis (1:26) reads, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

Genesis (1:27) reads, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

Genesis (1:28) reads, "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

If you know your Bible at all, you'll realize that this happens on the 6th day of creation.

Now someone please point to the part that says these people where Adam and Eve. You can't, because it doesn't say that. These are the people that existed on the Earth long before the creation of Adam and Eve. These are people who existed and where blessed by God, but according to the Bible had no soul.

Not until we get to Genesis (2:7) did God create a man that he would place into the garden of Eden of which we would learn in Genesis (2:19) that the man he places into the Garden of Eden is named, "Adam". Adam is the first human to have a soul. In Genesis (2:22) God would actually create the first woman with a soul, "Eve".

So to make the point, by the time Cain came to exist, there was a whole world full of people for him to find his wife.

What about micro organisms?

In Genesis (1:20) it says "And God said, Let the waters bring abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and the fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."

I'd like to cut in here and point out the "firmament of heaven" part. I will do a blog about this later on. If you have not researched the idea that heaven is simply the sky, you will want to read this when I post it. Now back to our discussion at hand.

I've always had a problem with Genesis chapter 1. Because until you read further into the Bible to find out a little back history, it makes God look insane. After all what sane being speaks to himself? After all it does read "And God said". Who was he talking to? Some will argue that he is talking to his Angels. As you will find out in future writings, this simply cannot be the reality of the situation.

My question in this blog as suggested by the title is why is there no mention of micro organisms at the time of creation. We know they had to exist, so why did these life forms who are the most abundant on the planet not get mentioned?

If you read starting at Genesis chapter 1 verse 20 through Genesis chapter 1 verse 25, you'll see that micro organisms are not mentioned at all. Some may argue that the abundant life from water includes micro organisms but this is later explained in the Bible as fish and whales. You can say the creeping things include micro organisms but this too is later explained as insects and cattle.

My belief of why micro organisms are not mentioned in the Bible is quite simple. "They cannot be seen with the naked eye, and therefor are not mentioned by man when he wrote the Bible."

In The Beginning

The very first line in the Bible is the easiest to except. It reads, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

So you're not a believer of God. Well, no matter what your religion you can replace the word God with your Deity and it still works. Even if you are an Atheist, you can replace "God" with "the big-bang" or whatever you believe in, and it still works.

Where I get a little lost on this line though is the word "heavens". Did whoever or whatever actually create more than one outspace? I guess you could argue that each solar system or that each galaxy is its own heaven, but then why create so much vast emptiness and create only one planet (Earth) on which to create life?

Next problem is that word "earth". Its not the word "Earth" as you would think, as in the name of our planet, but the earth or soil, or dirt upon which you would stand. This leaves way to the thought, if its possible that the word heavens was pluralized for a reason, that the earth actually is plural too. Simply put, there is more than one planet sustainable of life.

Both the Bible and the Quran give mention of multiple worlds:

In Sura (42:29) of the Quran mentions "and the living creatures that He (God) has scattered through them".

Daniel (4:11) of the Bible mentions "and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth".

Many leading scientist and theorist take it one step further saying that we share the same time and space with multiple earth (Earths) in different dimensions. Even Einstein was a believer in the multi-dimensional theory.

So it turns out this very simple first sentence in the Bible is actually one of the most complex things in the Bible that you will actually read. The worst part is that there is little or nothing in the rest of the Bible to actually back up the basic meanings of this line. Both the Bible and the Quran actually do more to prove that we are one of many, rather than the only one.

Added on 2010-02-13: As I expand my knowledge I have begun to read parts of the Gita. Bhagavad Gita (11.32) reads, "Time I am, the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come here to destroy all people." Here again is another example of God telling us of multiple worlds. This line also fits into my blog about the existance of God himself, as he says here that he himself is time.
